We're delighted to be Fairy Talers - come and peek through the Irish Fairy Door to the world of magic !

We were absolutely over the moon when The Irish Fairy Door Company got in touch recently and asked if we'd like to become Fairy Talers, working alongside them to show you some of their new products and also open the (Irish Fairy) door to give you a glimpse into the world of magic and childish delight going on at The Madhouse.

Let's go back to the beginnings of our adventure with this enchanting company. Once upon a time,  a magical Irish Fairy Door arrived at The Madhouse - I was actually surprised to check back on our original review and see that it has only been here since last October. There has been so much fun and interaction with it that I was convinced we'd had it much longer than five months !

We carefully opened the box and took out the door - we'd chosen a purple arched door with a funky pink flower on it, but there are many different colours and designs to choose from, depending on the personality of your child and your fairy. You also get three little wooden stepping stones to make a pathway to the door, a little pad to leave messages to your fairy (and even more excitingly, to get replies back) and a Fairy Welcome Guide to show you everything you need to know about opening up your home to a fairy friend.

There's also a beautifully intricate and tiny magical key which you need to place next to the door once you've installed it. This is a very important part of the fairy magic because if the key has disappeared in the morning, you know that the fairy has found her way into your house. Exciting !

Pierre got out the vacuum cleaner to make sure it was all nice and clean and carefully laid out all the items.

Then he sat down and waited to see if she'd arrive. As she's a bit shy, she didn't come while he was watching but in the morning, the little key had disappeared and there was a little note from the fairy, thanking Pierre for welcoming her into The Madhouse. He was suitably wowed and the magic has been continuing ever since.

There are no batteries required to keep the magic going, just your child's (and your own) imagination, but if you need a little help, make sure you register your fairy on the Irish Fairy Door website to name your new friend and unlock the access to Magical Matters, which includes regular stories and activities to inspire you and help grow a stronger bond with your special visitor.

As tomorrow is St Patrick's Day, and everyone is a little bit Irish to mark the occasion, now would be the perfect time if you want to invest in your own magical Irish Fairy Door ! They have even created a special green shamrock door and, according to their Facebook page, they've been busy sending them out all over the world in the last few weeks.

I'm really looking forward to sharing the wonderful fairy magic with you over the coming months. If you want to keep up to date with the other Fairy Talers, make sure you pop over to see their blogs too. Here is the complete list :
